What are the most exciting sustainability trends right now according to you?
I have a background in technology and start-up and there are many very exciting technology trends in the field of sustainability right now. An example is autonomous electric vehicles that can reduce emissions and reduce the number of accidents in combination with new business models and the sharing economy that has the potential to reduce the need for natural resources to produce new vehicles because not everyone needs their own car.
What made you interested in nudging and behavioral science in the first place?
To bring about paradigm shifts, behavior change is the key, and to quote Einstein: “We cannot solve our problems with the same mindset we used when we created them.” When I studied personal development, I came across the use of behavioral science in many different ways, and when I first heard about nudging, I became curious about how it can be used to make us better people.
What added value are you aiming to bring to the organization?
I believe that I will add new perspectives and ideas as an engineer and entrepreneur. My main focus will however be on the digital solutions, capitalizing on my experience and knowledge of taking digital platforms to the market.
What is your favourite nudge?
I like smart, simple solutions and also have a keen spot for geometrical art, which is why I really like the visual illusion crosswalks, designed to slow down traffic.
