We’re excited to announce the launch of our upcoming course: Nudging for Sustainable Mobility, developed in collaboration with the EIT Urban Mobility Competence Hub. This course is designed for professionals seeking to create more sustainable travel habits at workplaces and in cities, through the power of behavioral change.

Why sustainable mobility needs a behavioral approach

As both workplaces and cities in Europe are striving to become more liveable and sustainable, encouraging sustainable mobility choices—like walking, cycling, and using shared transport—is essential.  Yet, changing travel behavior remains one of the trickiest challenges especially for mobility managers and urban designers.

The missing component?

Mobility planning often overlooks the human element: habits, biases, and everyday decision-making. As a result, even the most well-designed infrastructure or policies struggle to shift behavior.

With practical tools and knowledge about behavioral psychology we can nudge people toward better choices. It’s time to bridge the gap between intention and action—making sustainable travel not only possible, but also embedded in everyday life.

At Nudgd we are on a mission to make sustainable choices easy. Now, we want to teach you how to be a part of the movement and how to utilize the power of behavioral change – with hands on nudging techniques.

Who is this course for?

Whether you’re shaping city policy or developing local sustainable mobility campaigns, this course provides the practical tools needed to make meaningful change.

This course is ideal for:

  • Sustainability Managers
  • City planners
  • Mobility managers
  • Urban designers
  • Policy makers and sustainability professionals working with transport behavior.

What you’ll learn

This course gives you practical tools to turn behavioral insights into real-world change. You’ll explore the foundations of behavioral science and learn how to apply nudging techniques to encourage active travel, boost shared mobility, and reduce car dependency.

Through hands-on exercises and real case examples, you’ll learn to:

  • Identify barriers to sustainable and accessible mobility
  • Design and implement behavior-based mobility strategies
  • Apply nudging principles in planning and policy
  • Understand travel behavior through a human-centred lens
  • Translate behavioral theory into tangible interventions

Whether you’re designing a bike lane, planning a commuter campaign, or rethinking public transport incentives, this course helps you make it stick.

What is nudging?

Nudging is a cost efficient, impact-driven approach to changing mobility behavior without restricting choice. In the context of urban mobility, it’s a smart way to encourage better decisions—like choosing to bike over taking the car, or trying a shared mobility service.

By the end of the course, you’ll know how to apply these methods to improve sustainable mobility.
