Kalle Bodestig
Product Manager, Nudgd

Hi Kalle, welcome to our team!

Why do you find it interesting to work on sustainability?

Working towards a more sustainable future is in everyone’s best interest. If I can do my part, that’s something I’ll feel good about. For me, it’s a privilege to work on something meaningful — especially when my efforts ultimately have a positive impact on someone’s behavior.

What made you interested in nudging and behavioral science in the first place?

I’ve always been interested in behavioral science and have had the opportunity to apply that interest throughout most of my career too — primarily by designing platforms with user flows based on human behavior and decision-making. My interest in nudging specifically, started in 2017 when I met Katharina Paoli at a networking event for entrepreneurs. She introduced me to the theories behind nudging, and ever since, I’ve been both curious and deeply engaged in the concept.

What added value can you bring to the organization?

I believe my experience in creating products with a strong focus on customers and end users will be valuable. Hopefully, my background can help scale up our nudging concepts and reach a broader audience.

What is your favorite nudge and why?

I find nudges that tap into a sense of fun particularly appealing. I think I’d have to go with the Ballot Bin – the ash tray that lets you vote with your cigarette butts and by that reduces littering. Not only is it effective, but it also hits close to home—back in my youth, I had a job where I spent every morning picking up cigarette butts at Vårväderstorget in northern Gothenburg. I would have much rather checked the voting results than picked up all those cigarette butts!

What do you do when you are not working?

In my free time, I love spending time with family and friends. Once upon a time, I used to play floorball at an elite level, but in recent years, I’ve switched to playing padel where I have the pleasure to compete against people who once played at the top level in all sorts of sports in Sweden. But more than anything, I truly appreciate a slow weekend morning, knowing there’s absolutely nothing on the to-do list for the day.
